Teachers were introduced to Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) by Chris Shaffer, the Allegheny College GIS Lab Manager.   They received hands-on experience using the computer and GIS software.  Also,Jennifer DeHart and Chris Lundberg,
Allegheny College Environmental Science and Biology Professors, demonstrated the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) units and their applications.

Teachers also had time to become more familiar with activities from the Topographic Map Module and see what is offered in the 12 other watershed modules Creek Connections makes available for loan to area teachers.
